抬头看看月亮吧
这次的展览其实在2020年就开始聊，但是因为过去三年各种不可抗力的因素，一直到今天才落听。在这个特别的三年里，处理生活琐碎、抵抗无力与焦虑成为很多人的日常工作。作为艺术家活的重心也一样偏移，失去平衡。
站在不同的地方看月亮——是在思考不同艺术家及他们作品之间的关系后，出现在脑海里的。这次展览里的五位艺术家，在过去的三年中，在世界不同的地方生活、工作。相同的是，不论他们的生活以怎样的方式被打破，仍旧一直坚持创作。不可抗力的，他们的创作和思考被侵蚀，但艺术创作仍旧是他们的日常，或是白月光，或是为之抵抗的力量/解药。
月亮每日或有不同，也不会像感受太阳一样，总感受到它的存在；虽然它的光芒相比较太阳显得微弱，但它一直都在。
这个展览在两种语言中各有一个名字。因为月亮在两种语言中的意义非常不同（月亮/lunar，是疯狂/lunatic的词根）。汉语的月亮的质感难以靠翻译传达。Puddle，雨水积成的水坑，是这次展览的英文名字。尽管是大不相同的事物，月亮与太阳的关系，可以与水坑与其来源的关系相比较。水坑的水是借来的，它短暂的拥有这些水。相对于江河湖海，它似乎微不足道，也许混沌浑浊，却能反射出或大或小的任何事物。它可以成为一面镜子，也可以成为一个宇宙.

Look up at the moon
This exhibition was conceived in 2020. But due to various unforeseeable factors in the past three years, it is not realized until today. In the last very special three years, dealing with the trivialities of life, resisting weakness and anxiety has become a part of daily routine for many people. As an artist, the life’s center is shifted, and is off balanced.
“Standing in different places and looking at the moon” comes to mind after thinking about the relationship between five artists and their works. The five artists featured in this exhibition have lived and worked in different parts of the world over the past three years. What’s common about them is that regardless how their lives’ order is shuttered, they’ve continued to create. Their art practice and thinking are inevitably eroded , but artistic creation is still their daily life, the force/antidote of resistance.
The moon may be different every day. Its’ presence, unlike the sun’s, is not always felt. Its glow appears faint compared to the sun, yet it is always there.
This exhibition has different names in two languages. The moon has very different significance in two languages(lunar, the root word of lunatic. no such association in Chinese). Therefore the texture of the Chinese moon will lost in translation. Puddle, is this exhibition’s name in English. Although vastly different things, the moon and the sun’s relation is comparable to that of a puddle and its source. A puddle’s water is borrowed. It holds water temporarily. Its water maybe muddy and opaque. But a puddle can reflect things big or small. A puddle can be a mirror, or a universe.

叶茂清/Maoqing Ye
艺术家/独立策展人。艺术作品在欧洲多次展览、获奖；创作涉猎影像艺术、行为表演等。现专注于策展、艺术教育、艺术设计等；曾长年从事电影、戏剧的导演、导师工作。2018年毕业于伦敦艺术大学温布尔顿学院纯艺专业。
Artist/Independent Curator. Ye’s artwork has been exhibited and awarded multiple times in Europe; Her art practice includes video art, performance performances, etc. Now she focuses on curation, art education, art design, etc.; She has been engaged in film and drama director and tutor for many years. She graduated from Wimbledon College, University of the Arts London in 2018.

保罗. 威尔/Poul R. Weile
Poul R. Weile于1954年出生于丹麦尼堡，1979年至1984年在丹麦欧登塞艺术学院接受教育。他常驻德国柏林，但一直在世界各地工作，包括冰岛、中国、日本、韩国、法国、意大利和挪威。自1984年以来，他一直以艺术家的身份生活和工作，涉及视觉艺术的所有领域。
Poul R. Weile was born in Nyborg, Denmark in 1954 and educated at the Academy of Arts in Odense, Denmark from 1979 – 1984. He’s based in Berlin, Germany, but has been working all over the world including Iceland, China, Japan, South Korea, France, Italy and Norway. He has lived and worked as an artist since 1984, in all fields of visual art.
王兰/Wang Lan
艺术家、策展人和时装设计师。毕业于贵州民族大学美术学院、上海大学美术学院、德国卡塞尔美术学院。1989年，王兰去了德国，从那里开始周游世界进行艺术创作。王兰的艺术创作包括中国画、刺绣画、装置艺术、陶瓷艺术、油画、行为艺术和动画录像。
Artist, curator and fashion designer. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Guizhou Minzu University, the Academy of Fine Arts of Shanghai University and the Kassel Academy of Art in Germany. In 1989, Wang Lan went to Germany, from where she began to travel all over the world to create art. Wang Lan’s artistic creations include Chinese painting, embroidery painting, installation art, ceramic art, oil painting, performance art and animation video.

王红媛/Wang Hongyuan
王红媛，1996年毕业于北京广播学院(现名中国传媒大学)新闻系，同年进入中国艺术研究院研究生院攻读美术学专业，先后获得硕士、博士学位。主要学术研究方向是外国现当代美术史及中国当代艺术理论。1999年至今任职于中国艺术研究院，现为《美术观察》杂 志[国际视野]栏目学术主持，网络部主任，美术研究所研究员，研究生导师。曾在期刊报纸上发表百余篇艺术评论、访谈、论文和译文，文章多次被收入多种当代美术年鉴。
Wang Hongyuan graduated from the Department of Journalism of Beijing Broadcasting Institute (now known as Communication University of China) in 1996, and entered the Graduate School of the China Academy of Arts in the same year to study fine arts, and obtained a master’s degree and a doctorate. Her main academic research interests are foreign modern and contemporary art history and Chinese contemporary art theory. Since 1999, she has worked at the China Academy of Arts, and is currently the academic host of the “Art Observation” magazine [International Vision] column, the director of the network department, the researcher of the Institute of Fine Arts, and the tutor of graduate students. She has published more than 100 art reviews, interviews, essays and translations in periodicals and newspapers, and her articles have been included in various contemporary art yearbooks.
